The reality of the proposal to extend unfair dismissal claim rights

My recent post/link on the LinkedIn Group 'Hot HR' on the government's plans for a radical shake-up of the tribunal system and the proposal to extend unfair dismissal claim rights to after 2 years' service has certainly sparked some interesting responses.

The general response seems to be very much that this would not be a good thing and the idea is without substance.

Comments include concerns about the extension to two years being that people may put in false discrimination claims instead of ordinary grievances because there is no time limit for these.  and staff with under two years' service will become very vulnerable to mistreatment at work.
