Hot HR Blog

What's happening in Hot HR this week

Welcome to all new members - we now have over 1,440 members and the group is really warming up with some great discussions and activity.

SPEED READ FROM WARD HADAWAY:
* Determining holiday pay for those working atypical hours
* Prospect of success in reasonable adjustment case
* A fair redundancy procedure can involve a pool of only one

In the case of reasonbale adjusment this is particulary relevant for employers as the EAT's judgment puts forward the suggestion that if a disabled person has not told a prospective employer that they require reasonable adjustments to be made, then such a claim will have no reasonable prospect of success.

DISCUSSIONS: Lots of great discussions this week, here's a snap shot:

* A client asked me a interesting question in a meeting yesterday I thought I would share it and get the groups thoughts....

* Does anyone else have major trauma in Annual Leave allocation for p/t employees?

Focus on: Social Media to Recruit:
* Have you used social media to recruit? Any success stories / tips your happy to share?

 * HR directors believe social media is ineffective for recruitment, survey finds
